Reading the map: corrections to the summary you found
- Sanlam is the only one of the four with equity in EasyEquities. Sanlam Investment Holdings has held 30% of First World Trader (EasyEquities) since November 2017; Purple Group holds 70%.
- Allianz has no direct link. Its tie is through Sanlam: the SanlamAllianz joint venture (Allianz 49%) covers Africa outside South Africa, so it does not include Sanlam's EasyEquities stake.
- Investec has no ownership or partnership link. It is a competitor (Clarity, public since February 2025). The indirect ties are Sanlam's 3.1% shareholding in Investec Ltd, and Stephen Koseff (ex-Investec CEO, ex-Bidvest director, BLSA board) whose network overlaps Bonang Mohale's.
- Bonang Mohale is the strongest human bridge. He sits on Purple Group's board, chairs Bidvest, was a Sanlam executive and alternate director, and ran BLSA.
- Bidvest Bank is for sale. The R2.8bn sale to Access Bank collapsed in February 2026 and Bidvest relaunched the process, so the GROW Account link may change hands.
Purple Group directors with no cross-link found in this research: Arnold Forman, Craig Carter, Gary van Dyk (CFO). Absence here means no public overlap surfaced, not that none exists.
